Want to stay connected with your friends and family - for them to get a glimps into your life or vacation? Trying to sell something? Pictures make a BIG difference!!

For selling - having pictures REALLY helps you sell things MUCH FASTER and get your point across better. It also makes OUR/the buyers lives better/easier as well as yours because we can see what you have and if it doesn't work for us, we don't have to spend the gas/taxi money let alone time.

Here are a few Photo Share type sites (though they're more limited on LOTS of levels. I don’t have much experience/info on them so your input is REALLY helpful) - as well as some that are cheap and some not (but WELL worth it!!)

It TRULY can be VERY EASY to do (hey, if I can do it ANYONE can do it!!!)!!


http://Picasa.google.com (Sarah said they have the most storage at the best resoluton BUT, they are ONLY for Windows 2000/XP & with Internet Explorer 5.0+)

http://Flickr.com (you HAVE to download/bring over one pic at a time [PAIN/Time consuming!!], I haven’t found anything in it to make them purdy. I believe you can pay extra to store LOTS of pics).

http://PhotoBucket.com (can’t write much - mainly just a few letters for title of pic, photo [up to 10,000] & video storage)

http://Shutterfly.com (looks like you can make some purdy folders for groups of your pics plus order all sorts of other things from them)

http://Snapfish (they even have editing tools like remove red-eye, borders to make it purdier, order merchandise like cards, photo book, prints. My least favorite because vistors MUST sign in each time [& I NEVER remember my code] plus it looks like you HAVE to download/bring over one pic at a time [PAIN/Time consuming!!])

http://CopperMine-gallery.net (a multi-purpose fully-featured and integrated web picture gallery script written in PHP using GD or ImageMagick as image library with a MySQL backend [whatever that means]. This site is BEYOND my brain. I can’t even tell if it’s free)



I personally LOVE http://SmugMug.com but you pay for it BUT it's great for people like me that take LOTS of pics as I can create LOTS of "folders" for each sitea psuedo website writing all the text you'd like and even long descriptions of the pictures - DETAILS!! Standard Account - $40/year but you can have UNLIMITED storage/sites/folders, do Web 2.0, Tags, RSS feeds, APIs, Ajax.
POWER USER - $60 allows you to completely customize them, do your own headers/footers, video clips, use your own host name (this is what I have).
Professional Accounts - $150/yr - set print prices to sell your pictures & make a profit, sell digital downloads, use custom watermarkes, Proof-delayed shipping, protect your images from theft, add bigger files, add Hi-Def video+
