DOCTOR CELULAR does everything from selling new and reconditioned cell phones (my FAV [and one of the cheapest] is a more basic phone that has a DUAL SIM card holder [great if you live/travel to an area where say ICE sucks but MoviStar is strong like Escazu a bit south of the park - that way you don't have to walk around with 2 cells and it was only $56.  And for $10 more you can get one with a camera in it.  It also has a radio]), UNLOCKING and JAILBREAK cell phones (iPhones, BlackBerry's on down), Pre-Paid Cell Cards (ICE/Kolbi, MoviStar, Claro).  

Plus they have LOTS of cell ACCESSORIES (this is where I got my little Universal Battery Charger gizmo that works to charge my digital camera and cell phone and other batteries - for like 4,000-colones/$8ish.  I had a friend go to Radio Shack and they wanted $40 for some fancy schmancy thing that worked the same way.

(this is a Universal Charger but that goes into your cars cigarette lighter so your cell or camera battery won't go dead again - just 4,000-colones!)

(this gizmo attaches to your cigarette lighter and acts like a BlueTooth or hands-free intercom thingie and is just 15,000-colones.  Only a few left)

Cell phones are constantly changing but typically start at ULTRA BASIC around 10,000-colons/$20 to under $200.

He's AWESOME at Repairing and Fixing Cell Phones and
UnLocking and Jail-Break (including iPhones 4S+ ) and Flashing of all brands of cell phones.

Dr. Cellular is who I turned to out of desperation when I killed my iPhone by attempting to upload the latest version of the software and even the Apple Rep (who I spent $29 to ask this question of) said was irreparable (do NOT NOT NOT upload the latest software for cell phones that are unlocked or jailbroken or you'll HAVE to Unlock/Jailbreak it AGAIN - spend another 20,000+ AND loose all your stuff!!!!!!!!).   

Kike speaks GOOD ENGLISH!!!

And they give EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE on a level I'm used to!!!

on Calle Country Club - 800 mts South of Calle Vieja/Old Road - on the SouthWest corner where you HAVE to turn Right - right there on the corner where Western Union USED to be - in Centro Comercial Centro Comercial PLAZA REAL.  The challenge is, where their entrance is is off a one-way part of the street - going the opposite way, so at the blue shoe store/their corner you're going to have to turn Right  •  go up one block  •  turn Left  •  go up one block and turn Left again (so you're coming back down the hill/Calle Country Club) and they're in the plaza (Plaza Real) on the Left JUST before the corner. 
If you're coming from the South side (up the hill) of Escazu they're 300 mts north of Banco Nacional.

HOURS:  Mon.-Fri. 9am-1pm and 2-6pm (closed for lunch from 1-2pm), Sat. 9am-5pm
