FABRIC STORE • Tienda de Telas - BEST & Cheapest in Costa Rica - OROTEX

(Warehouse and Office)

After an exhausting and lengthy search for a cool outdoor fabric to cover an outdoor sofa set when I first moved to Costa Rica I FINALLY found this AWESOME GEM with AMAZINGLY LOW prices
(we're talking cheaper than wholesale!!!  I even found some fabric for UNDER $1/meter!!!)

And they’re now my FAVORITE
FABRIC STORE
(”Tienda de Telas”)
in Costa Rica:

OROTEX

I’ve found everything from upholstery type fabric, curtains (including some cool pre-made ones for under $20 a good size panel), dressy, cheapo!!  Every time I’ve been there (and it’s been a LOT) I have found EVERYTHING I was looking for and LOTS MORE!!

MY experience with the people here is EVERYONE is SOOOO HELPFUL and Nice and patient with me not knowing a thing about sewing, etc. (of course the world is helpful and nice to you if YOU treat others that way also - right??!!!!)

They have 2 locations - in front of each other:

(Showroom!)
SHOWROOM:
NEW - ACROSS the street from their main warehouse - and upstairs is their Showroom which has samples of everything all nice and organized plus they have the better/higher quality fabrics there - especially great with curtain/upholstery material.  Downstairs they also have BEDDING (Sheets.  Including the MOST LUSCIOUS blanket I have EVER felt and when I bought one for each of my 6 bedrooms in my now former guest house - they were around just $25 in King!) and BATHROOM Things (some 1/2 decent quality TOWELS when I’ve been there though not the highest in quality but they're the best prices for the value I’ve found so far!  At times I’ve found bath towels for around $4 each - and some great prices on bulk CLEANING TOWELS) and a few decorative things including some COOL Pre-made CURTAINS and CURTAIN RODS (limited though I bought a BUNCH here and some NICE ones!!!) for GREAT LOW prices also!!!!

WAREHOUSE
(photo at the top):
I LOVE their warehouse but if they just got a massive shipment in, you may have a hard time maneuvering the aisles (though I was able to get my 224 pound squishable body down them!!) as they have THOUSANDS of things to choose from!!!

Like most things in Costa Rica - what they have today they may not have tomorrow so grab it when you see something you like (that happened to me when a seamstress messed up on some curtains!).
