WARNING - BCR - Banco de Costa Rica Email Scam!!

UPDATE from Hamid:  "Now I receive many scam emails, purportedly from various Costa Rica banks nearly every day. My advice, ignore all and go directly to your bank when in doubt. The banks seem to be doing very little to shut these sites down."

My bud Hamid with iAspire.biz shared this IMPORTANT notification with us about receiving a SUPPOSIDE:

"I RECEIVED AN EMAIL TODAY FROM Apache (apache@VOLCON. net) SUPPOSEDLY on behalf of BCR Banco de Costa Rica (noreply@sonico.com).

ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY DO NOT OPEN THIS EMAIL. I SPOKE WITH BCR SECURITY AND IT IS A SPAMMER ATTEMPT TO GAIN ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT. TELL OTHERS WHO MIGHT NEED TO KNOW."

The email looked TOTALLY OFFICIAL - with ALL the logos, click through things as if it were an official BCR email and when you press onto the link - it goes to a FAKE BCR Website!

Here's the text:

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

PLEASE READ THIS!!!

Do you notice any HINT/"Sign" that this might not be legit peeps??

Did anything in the "FROM" email address look odd???  Does it even MENTION BCR???

ALWAYS cheek what the email address is coming from (though that does NOT guarantee anything).

Bottom line - NEVER NEVER NEVER click onto a link that requires you to input your password or ANY of that information!

JUST go DIRECTLY to that PAGE by YOU typing into your Search bar above  www.____ (again - NOT NOT NOT from the link) and sign in that way!!!   ALWAYS!!!

Or if you are foolish enough to click on a link - you might NOT want to "blame" the perpetrator who has broken into your account and stolen YOUR money and/or done Identity Theft!!!   Because YOU are responsible for going there!!!  These hurt/wounded puppies PREY on you not being conscious!!!

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

PLEASE "SHARE" this WARNING ESPECIALLY with people that bank with BCR!
