Unlike in the U.S., a "NOTARY" in Costa Rica is a HIGHER form of a Lawyer • Abogado who have completed the additional 2 years of training and are certified as specifically as Notaries. They are who you OFTEN MUST use to get LOTS of things done around here (hence you get to spend MUCH more $$$/colones to get things done in Costa Rica)
