It's about to get WORSE AND - for 2 years (which will probably translate to ___ years - which MY observation is things RARELY open anywhere near the projected date in Costa Rica)!!!!
They're FINALLY going to start to EXPAND that just one lane each way little piece of travel hell into
The new road (once it's FINALLY completed) will be 2 lanes each direction with a 5th middle Turning Lane. The distance is 2 km•about 1.24 miles. This LITTLE section of road carries about 31,500 vehicles a day!!!!
Work is SUPPOSED to start the 1st quarter of 2014*.
*Anyone want to start taking bets on the REAL finish date or on future problems with it (often based on shabby jobs•quality, closed bids with contracts going to "friends"/people they're connected with, nepotism, "missing" funds I've observed SOOOO OFTEN in Costa Rica!!)??
Anyone else feel that NOW would be a GREAT time to see a new VOLUNTEER group form of regular CONCERNED citizens (concerned for the PEOPLE•country - NOT THEIR $$$pockets$$$ - and NON-government related people!! People with NOTHING to gain from it other than the knowledge they're giving BACK to their country and it's people) that are TIRED of all the corruption that often goes on in such projects, to keep an eye on EVERY STEP of this project from where the money is going to quality control!! To meet weekly at LEAST - a WATCH GROUP!!! (maybe giving them a Transportation Stipend)
