It is estimated that at least one billion of them will experience rape or abuse in their lifetime.
The One Billion Rising campaign was born 16 years ago, the inspiration of playwright Eve Ensler of Vagina Monologues fame.  In 2013 it found its amazing voice when, on February 14th, one billion people in 207 countries rose and danced to demand an end to violence against women and girls.  The short film of this wondrous day premiered at the Sundance Festival January 19th this week:

RISE, RELEASE, DANCE, AND DEMAND JUSTICE! 


The women’s group Blooms is joining with the
University of Peace and other groups:

We’ll be dancin’ in a FLASH MOB!!

Come to dance or be in the audience to show your support!  Practice the Dance Steps!!   Arrange car pools!

To participate, write to dewar@CasaDewar.com  You’ll be put on a list to receive more details regarding the venue closer to the date.  They may be organizing some carpooling.
