FLEA MARKETS in Costa Rica • MERCADO de las PULGUS en Costa Rica

Mercado de las Pulgas • Flea Market in Costa Rica
Flea Markets as we know them from the States are not something you find often.

We do have a

COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE•Mini-Flea Market in Escazu once a month (details at -  LivingLifeInCostaRica.blogspot.com/2014/06/MiniFleaMarketCocinaEclecticaEscazu.html

MERCADO MAYOREO
Mercado Mayoreo is the CHEAPEST Farmers Market•Feria in Costa Rica and on weekends -

Saturday & Sunday - 7am-12pm/noon/mid-day
they also have Flea Market•Mercado de las Pulgas "stuff"!!!

I haven't stopped in yet but from driving by it seems like it's a lot of made in China chunchas/chachkees (like MANY flea markets I've been to in the U.S. seem to be doing), some brought over from Panama (MEGA cheaper for most things) or Nicaragua and yes, SOME things are stolen but . . . , and used "stuff".  Not lots of "quality" things but seems like a great place to check out if you're a newbie to Costa Rica!  I hear Tools can be quite well priced here (again - not the highest in quality but if it's not that important - they're cheap [FYI - you can often find some basic tools like hammers, wrenches - things like that - at Pequeño Mundo!!! -

The regular Feria• is open week days starting EARLY in the a.m. like 4am or so as MANY restaurants shop here and when I've been there - they seem to clear out by around 11am-ish - but there is one that stays open till 10 PM!!!!!!

They also have a bunch of Soda's there to eat from that are quite cheap!!!

Daniel reports:
"You will find everything fine creams, perfumes, sunglasses, antiques, clothing, food in general, cleaning utensils, old stuff, general spare parts, etc, etc, etc. At the same time next takes place the weekend market in the selling fruits and vegetables. More info and photos on his website: "
