Assistance with Passing RITEVE • RETEVE VEHICLE INSPECTION in Costa Rica

Passing the RETEVE VEHICLE INSPECTION (the MANDATORY Vehicle Inspection NEEDED before registering &/or renewing your car in Costa Rica) can be a BIG PAIN on numerous levels - even more so if you do not habla Español•do not speak Spanish!!

I found a REALLY GOOD English-speaking mechanic that's TRUST WORTHY & GETS the level of North American Customer Service we're often seeking!!

has been my friend Brenda's mechanic for AGES - young as he obviously is in the picture above, Renee started dabbling on cars when he was a little boy!  Still young (but now in his late-20's), working on cars is his PASSION.

AND, he can even help you with the whole Reteve Inspection process!!  I think hiring someone to do this is a VERY WISE INVESTMENT in your sanity, time & wallet because MANY people have reported feeling that "There's a Rich Gringo" sign on their forehead - plus it can get complicated - especially if there is/are things wrong with the vehicle & do you REALLY want to go through all that just to save you $40???

THE PROCESS:

•  You can bring your vehicle to him in Guachipelin (de Escazu).  OR - for a fee (based on your location), he can come pick it up from you.

•  First he'll take your vehicle back to the shop he works for:

& run a diagnostic on it to better insure your vehicle passing Reteve Inspection. 
IF anything needs to be done, with your advance permission he'll fix it.

•  Then he'll take your car to an OFFICIAL Authorized Reteve Inspection shop & once you're approved, he'll bring it back to his shop for you to pick it up or return it to you.

PRICE:
His Time  -  10,000-colones (less than $20 [tips are welcome])

Official Reteve Inspection Fee  -  10,000-c
Repairs  -  Varies by what's needed.

Transporation to/from his shop  -  varies by location•distance.  Inquire.

Don't live in Escazu but want someone that speaks good English & is trustworthy & have not found that person where you live?  Renee's even willing to travel to you wherever you are if you REALLY need him - for the right FAIR price for his time & gas!
