Refreshing BEER DRINKS in Costa Rica & Nicaragua - MICHELADA

What's YOUR FAVORITE thing to drink in Costa Rica or Nicaragua??

I'm not much of a drinker (MEGA lightweight•cheap date) - especially beer -
but there's something about the hot weather that goes with beer & a

MICHELADA is REFRESHING!!!

In Costa Rica I like a Costa Rican style "MICHELADA"
Beer•Cerveza (of your choice)
Lime Juice (I prefer fresh squeezed)

Over ice - in a salt-rimmed glass.

In Nicaragua (actually I drink this also in Costa Rica usually also) - the FIRST thing I do when I arrive in Nicaragua is find me a iced cold
"NICA MICHELADA"
Beer•Cerveza

(of your choice.  I prefer Victoria because it's a bit stronger - more bitter)
Lime or Lemon Juice

(I prefer fresh squeezed)

Salsa Lizano

Over ice - in a salt-rimmed glass.

Kinda like the concept of a Beer Bloody Mary (without the vodka & tomato juice).

IF you REALLY want to try one of these tasty drinks & the bartender seems clueless - if they have a kitchen - chances are good they have Salsa Lizano so just ask for the ingredients separately.

WHAT'S UP WITH ICE IN BEER???

Ah - speaking of ICE - don't be surprised if your beer in hot destinations in Latin America either comes ON the rocks/with ice - or with a small bucket of ice left on the table since drinks loose it's chill FAST in the heat!!

Heck - RED WINE in Costa Rica is often even chilled!!
