GREEN CENTER • ECO DEPOT - like a Sustainable Home Depot & mini-Whole Foods type store now in Costa Rica!!

-->

GREEN CENTER ECO DEPOT

YEAHHH!!  Costa Rica is FINALLY making Green/Sustainable products easier to find thanx to GREEN CENTER ECO DEPOT!! Argentinian owner Rafa and his wife Ana Maria (who speak EXCELLENT English and most of the staff speaks some English) have brought us what they vision to turn into a mini Home Depot / Whole Food for sustainable • ecological • organic products - many hard to find items in Costa Rica (especially without lots of research and running around!).

They have a nice section of organic FRUITS and VEGETABLES:

FOOD products (many made in Costa Rica) from my bud
Jasona's
"Good for You" dehydrated goodies

BRAGGS AMINO ACIDES and APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

SUPER FOODS

And
Gluten-Free and Kosher!!

They have all sorts of products for the HOUSE and BUILDING (and connections also) – everything from energy-efficient fridges/appliances, furniture and building materials.

They have a section of
organic CLEANING PRODUCTS (including MY FAV) and

PAPER GOODS (plates, napkins+)

They have a corner with BODY CARE  •  OILS  •  and BEAUTY ITEMS
(my bud Monika Bingen-Hara's BIO BELLA Toxic-free makeup, made with all natural ingredients, minerals and organic herbs and waxes. Lipsticks, facial powder, eye shadows)

They also have some

Energy-Efficient APPLIANCES  •  BUILDING MATERIALS (including Solar items)  •  GARDEN MATERIALS  •

They also have GIFT items made by local artisans made of recycled materials (I got a REALLY COOL wallet).
(I STILL LOVE this wallet SOOOO MUCH!!!)

Out front they have a CAFE with some tasty treats.

Upstairs they have a LARGE MEETING ROOM that can handle up to 50 people for workshops, classes, etc. with a multimedia projector and it's own bathrooms (MUCH NEEDED!!!)!!
(this is from the Newcomers of Costa Rica's meeting I attended)

DIRECTIONS•LOCATION:
Santa Ana

COMING FROM SAN JOSE/ESCAZU - heading WEST:
Take the Caldera Highway (aka - AutoPista del Sol • Route 27)
(note there are NO signs/warning of the pending exit [ahhh – life in Costa Rica!!).
The exit just blends into the road – passing Urbaniacion Hacienda del Sol.  Keep going forward - winding around - about 200 meters  - and you basically run right into it in front of the guard station at Urbanizacion Rio Oro.
EXITING – This is a bit trick!  Keep heading on that road that you were and follow the signs that say “Plaza Obelisco and Rio Oro” - turn Left at the first street.  Turn Left at the 2nd street.  Go through the little yellow tunnel and at Plaza Obelisco you'll run into the entrance to the Pista heading East towards San Jose.

COMING FROM CUIDAD COLON - heading EAST:
Take the Caldera Highway (aka - AutoPista del Sol • Route 27)
PASS Plaza Obelisqo.
Take the next exit (no signs) and turn LEFT.
Go under the overpass/highway and turn LEFT but do NOT go back onto the highway (go towards Urbanizacio Rio Oro).
They're 200 meters in front of the guard station at Urbanizacion Rio Oro.
