CRIME ON BUSES in Costa Rica

I saw on CRHoy.com on March 31, 2014 this note on the buses in Costa Rica with the most crime•assaults that happen ON them.  They are . . .

By Canton•County:
#1  -  San José report the most reported assaults - especially on Bus #157
#2  -  San Jose-Heredia - #57
#3  -  Limon - #48
#4  -  La Unión de Cartago - #48 (not sure how these are the same???  Anyone figure this out??)

However, when the figures are recorded by District, the worst for assaults goes to:
•  Central Limon #45
•  San Francisco de Heredia Uruca #41
•  San Jose #36

So bottom line - if you're taking these buses be EXTRA CAREFUL and consider carrying a fake wallet with a little $ and an expired credit card in it (and I carry a color copy of my passport anyways so make one for that also.  Do NOT NOT NOT carry your original passport EVER if you don't have to [like you're going to the bank or somewhere an original passport is required].  My real "wallet" does NOT look like a wallet).
