ABOUT THE LIVING LIFE IN COSTA RICA BLOG

I (Vicki Skinner - aka "THE Sarong Goddess") created this blog in 2007 to share DETAILED Finds•Lists•Info•Events•Experiences to help bring more EASE to people living in, visiting or thinking of moving to Costa Rica since DETAILS are NOT easy to find!
I’m NOT an expert (an "expert" 2 ME knows 101%-NOT me). I believe in sharin info•helping where I can! And with over 2,200 entries, so some things might be out of date, so if you find old info PLEASE help each other by getting the updated info & sharing it with me to revise. At least you have some basic info to get you started.
VOLUNTEER TO HELP:
Better yet - do you have extra time on your hands & looking for a volunteer project? Since this blog is a labor of love & RARELY does anyone share a donation (even though MANY have said how much it's helped them), I could REALLY use help updating info. Spanish speakers ESPECIALLY welcome since my VicLish can be somewhat limited at times!!

DONATE:
Has my blog helped in any way? Helped find something•brought more EASE? More exposure or business?
I welcome you to show YOUR appreciation for my efforts!
ANY size DONATION is APPRECIATED!
(see below other ways to show your appreciation)
The easiest way is with PAYPAL - Attn: LivingLifeInCostaRica@gmail.com

TOUR - GUAYABO National Monument with IVAR ZAPP - July 15

Karen Butler is organizing a bus trip to
GUAYABO National Monument Tour
Guided by IVAR ZAPP

NEW DATE:  Sunday  -  July 15, 2012  -  7am - depart from ESCAZU (Bello Horizonte - location given upon payment).  Returning around 4:30pm.

WHO ALL's INVITED??  Anyone that can appreciate the "energy" of this magical space!!!

GUAYABO NATIONAL MONUMENT

Guayabo is a high-energy, mystical location, near Turrialba Volcano.

Historically, the indigenous of the south met in Guayabo with the indigenous of the north to take specialized training.

Guayabo National Monument was created in 1973 to conserve the largest archeological site in the country. The protected area consists of 540 acres at 3,600 feet (1,100 meters) above sea level on the slopes of Turrialba Volcano, 12 miles (19 km) from the city of Turrialba.

Since 1968 an estimated 10% (5 acres) of the total area has been excavated by the University of Costa Rica. Excavations have revealed a number of cobbled roads, stone aqueducts, mounds, petroglyphs, tombs and sculptures that belonged to a pre-Columbian city, which was inhabited between 1000 B.C. and 1400 A.D.

I've heard from MANY that it has a VERY SPIRITUAL MAGICAL energy here!!

IVAR ZAPP
Co-author of "Atlantis in America, Navigators of the Ancient World"

Our guide, Prof. Ivar Zapp, will speak about above and about the maritime tools that have been unearthed in Guayabo de Turrialba, as well as the merchant marine roadway of 380 kilometers with hanging bridges on every river crossing.

From Ivar:
"This is evidence that in Costa Rica lay buried the remains of a maritime civilization known by the Greeks as Atlantis. To those that know little about my work I recommend visiting the readers' comments of my book - http://amazon.com/Atlantis-America-Navigators-Ancient-World/dp/0932813526/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340256927&sr=8-1&keywords=%22Atlantis+in+America%2C+Navigators+of+the+Ancient+World%22

Ivar will reveal evidence discovered by infrared cameras more recently.

My husband and I just returned from the absolutely wonderful, interesting and informative tour to Guayabo Nat'l Monument. It was more that we ever expected. This trip has added a new perspective of the Americas for us and we intend to pursue learning more of it, beginning now by reading his book, Atlantis in America. We were so privileged to have been guided by the author!
