I (Vicki Skinner - aka "THE Sarong Goddess") created this blog in 2007 to share DETAILED Finds•Lists•Info•Events•Experiences to help bring more EASE to people living in, visiting or thinking of moving to Costa Rica since DETAILS are NOT easy to find!
I’m NOT an expert (an "expert" 2 ME knows 101%-NOT me). I believe in sharin info•helping where I can! And with over 2,200 entries, so some things might be out of date, so if you find old info PLEASE help each other by getting the updated info & sharing it with me to revise. At least you have some basic info to get you started.

Tsunami Warning CANCELLED for Costa Rica (& the Central American Pacific Coast) after 7.4 Earthquake off of El Salvador August 26, 2012

TSUNAMI WARNING
CANCELLED!!!

I don't mean to be an alarmist but at 10:37pm Sunday - August 26, 2012, there was a 7.4 earthquake off of the coast of El Salvador


AND . . . "they" have issued a
TSUNAMI WARNING

for the Pacific Coast of Central America - of course that includes COSTA RICA
(and Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico [part of "the Ring of Fire" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Ring_of_Fire)



Mama Nature is sure giving us LOTS of "warnings" she's NOT HAPPY with us - ESPECIALLY today where there were MEGA LOTS of shakin' going on - ESPECIALLY So. California?? DARN - I'm from there (youth) and I don't EVER recall ALL that type of seismic activity like they had today!!!  I heard they had a swarm of more than 300 quakes Sunday in Imperial County, including at least 2 greater than 5.0 magnitude. Those temblors caused minor damage and forced evacuations from some buildings.
Remember to ALWAYS BE PREPARED!!
