Suspension of transit police officers to
COST state ¢28 million!!!!
A judge has ordered the release of 13 transit police officers who
were arrested on charges of collecting bribes in Guanacaste.
Additionally, the officers have been suspended with pay for a period of6 months. The ruling will cost the state ¢28 million ($56,910) in
payroll.
CALL TO CONSCIOUSNESS COMMENT:
Say WHAT??? So they BRIBE people (which
sadly the government has set this type of behavior up by making speeding
& other tickets SOOOO OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH for this country [in doing
some research on it - MANY of the tickets were MUCH higher than even in
the U.S.!!]) & make money from that.
They get arrested (which costs the people of CR $$).
They they are suspended – hence getting time off (making it harder
for their co-workers to cover their jobs – or are effecting the people
of CR who do not have the legit police presence)
AND – they are STILL getting PAID while getting their little "suspended" vacation?????
Am I the only one seeing how some less than honorable (or financially
desperate) police might see an ADVANTAGE to KEEP doing that type of
behavior???
