U.S. President Obama is coming to Costa Rica!!
The purpose of President Obama's trip to Costa Rica is to
ATTEND
the
PRESIDENTIAL Summit
of the
CENTRAL AMERICAN INTEGRATION SYSTEM (SICA).
May 3-4, 2013
President Obama’s visit will also be to address collective efforts to promote economic growth/trade and development in Central America, immigration to the U.S. and citizen security.
The Costa Rican government is also planning on talking with him about immigration issues, climate change (yeahhh the U.S. currently has a president that GETS/believes that climate change exists), disaster preparedness, and clean energy!
Looking into it it appears that this is a
PRESIDENTIAL SUMMIT
(hence why President Obama is coming to Costa Rica vs another rep)
It's been 16 years since a U.S. president has visited Costa Rica.
You may be able to get some future information at the U.S. Embassy's Facebook page (though every time I go on it - 90% of the content seems to be only in Spanish - not both - hmmmmm)

(it will be interesting to see what comes out of this meeting since I feel we're seeing LOTS of the tit-for-tat energy/new laws happening towards ExPats living in Costa Rica. It sure is understandable where that might be coming from since the U.S. is making it REALLY hard for Costa Rican's to even visit the U.S. let alone move there - or open a bank account - or get a drivers license [it's sad though as I've seen it REALLY starting to effect Costa Rica as a destination for ExPats consider moving to as well as how MANY ExPats seem to be moving AWAY from Costa Rica!! This IS/will greatly effect the economy of the PEOPLE of Costa Rica])
WHAT IS the
CENTRAL AMERICAN INTEGRATION SYSTEM (SICA)?
