Costa Rica is FINALLY coming into the 21st Century (though last I checked with Banco Nacional, they STILL didn't have them in their system yet - making it hard to order something online that requires a zip code for verification of your card!! On that note, UNTIL the banks get with it, you will most likely STILL have problems ordering online)!

SO WHAT IS IT??
It's a 5 digit code and how it works is:
The 1st digit corresponds to the Province/State.
The 2nd 2 digits corresponds to the Canton/City and the
Last 2 digits are the District (like San Rafael, Centro, San Antonio, etc.).
The 2nd 2 digits corresponds to the Canton/City and the
Last 2 digits are the District (like San Rafael, Centro, San Antonio, etc.).
So Escazu (San Rafael) is
10203
1 = San Jose (the "Province"•State)
02 = Escazu (the "Canton"•City)
03 = San Rafael (the "District"•Neighborhood)
