I (Vicki Skinner - aka "THE Sarong Goddess") created this blog in 2007 to share DETAILED Finds•Lists•Info•Events•Experiences to help bring more EASE to people living in, visiting or thinking of moving to Costa Rica since DETAILS are NOT easy to find!
I’m NOT an expert (an "expert" 2 ME knows 101%-NOT me). I believe in sharin info•helping where I can! And with over 2,200 entries, so some things might be out of date, so if you find old info PLEASE help each other by getting the updated info & sharing it with me to revise. At least you have some basic info to get you started.

THINGS TO DO during the CHRISTMAS • NEW YEARS • NAVIDAD•ANO NUEVO HOLIDAY in Costa Rica


If you live AWAY from the beach areas (and some popular mountain areas like Arenal - when MANY hotel prices double and TRIPLE!! [hey - it's the CONSUMER that chooses to MAINLY go to these places during the holidays and not support them other times of the year so THEY get to look at why this happens!!) - this is THE BEST TIME to visit the places you've been wanting to but stayed away from because of crowds - or you just didn't have the time!!

The other nice thing is there are NO Driving Restrictions during between at least
December 25 and the Friday after New Years Day.

 Finca Caballo Loco Horse Tours in Ciudad Colon is open daily during the holiday season and is offering you a great opportunity to have a ½ hour lesson in the arena, to be followed by a 1 hour ride on beautiful trails that wind their way through the El Rodeo Biological Corridor near Ciudad Colon. All our horses are calm and healthy and very well looked after, not your typical trail horses.  You won’t be competing in the Olympics but you will learn some basic riding skills to give you more confidence in the saddle and help you relax and enjoy your new found connection with your equine companion. 
Special Holiday price of $49 per person (snack included).
For experienced riders the lesson is optional with more time spent on the trail!
