I (Vicki Skinner - aka "THE Sarong Goddess") created this blog in 2007 to share DETAILED Finds•Lists•Info•Events•Experiences to help bring more EASE to people living in, visiting or thinking of moving to Costa Rica since DETAILS are NOT easy to find!
I’m NOT an expert (an "expert" 2 ME knows 101%-NOT me). I believe in sharin info•helping where I can! And with over 2,200 entries, so some things might be out of date, so if you find old info PLEASE help each other by getting the updated info & sharing it with me to revise. At least you have some basic info to get you started.

Welcome Home Celebration for 1st Tico Mt Everest Climber - WARNER ROJAS

WELCOME HOME CELEBRATION for the first Tico mountain climber to reach the top of Mt. Everest -  WARNER ROJAS  - as he arrives back in Costa Rica!!!

A caravan will meet up in Escazu to greet his 7pm Copa Airlines flight #391 from Panama at SJO-Juan SantaMaría Airport and proceed to San Antonio de Escazu for a welcoming and some Cultural activities!!!

The Municipality of Escazu, his wife Thessa and family along with supporters - the Tapachula, ArenaTrek Gym, AutoMercado, among others - have organized some activities in honor of his feat of being the FIRST COSTA RICAN TO REACH THE TOP OF THE WORLD!!!

SCHEDULE: 
6pm  -  Fans/family/supporters will gather to create a motorcade to follow each other to SJO Airport.  They will gather on the side street by Tony Romas (across from WalMart) San Rafael de Escazu (Trejos Montealegre). 
6:45pm  -  (here it’s unclear as to this is the time everyone will leave for the airport or arrive at the airport???) 

7:30pm  - Activities in the Plaza de San Antonio – Escazu
•    Screening of the game Costa Rica - El Salvador on the big screen
•    Cultural, firework display and masquerade
•    Presentation of the singer Isacc escazuceño Villavicencio
•    10pm  -  attention to the press from the Plaza de San Antonio de Escazú.

NOTE FROM WARNER TO HIS FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS!!!

Greetings friends, I hope you are very good right now. I wanted to greet them after several months without writing, really sorry but he had many options of how to communicate. But I was always very present and heartily thank you for all the support in one way or another I have passed on, I have no words to thank so many good vibes you sent me and which were the engine and the energy to reach the Everest . You went with me to this mountain, climb it together!

Also wanted to say that I stand here with Thessa and children this Friday June 8 at 7 pm at the Copa flight CM-0391. This because many people have asked when I return.

It will soon be back and ready for hiking, (and miss you too our precious forests and trails)

Gran Recibimiento: Desde la Cumbre del Everest Warner Rojas, ¡el regreso!


Este viernes llega al país el alpinista que ha puesto en alto el nombre de Escazú
Caravana le recibirá en el Aeropuerto Intnal. Juan Santamaría


Actividades culturales y el pueblo le recibirán en San Antonio

Tras confirmarse la llegada del alpinista escazuceño Warner Rojas al país este Viernes 8 de Junio a las ocho de la noche, la Municipalidad de Escazú organizó junto con la familia del escalador, actividades de recibimiento en homenaje a su proeza de ser el primer costarricense en conquistar la cima del mundo.

Rojas arribará al Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría a las ocho de la noche en un vuelo de COPA procedente de Panamá y será recibido por el pueblo de Escazú cuyos habitantes le escoltarán en una caravana que lo traerá hasta el distrito de San Antonio.

Se convoca a una caravana de vehículos este viernes 8 de junio, que se empezará a conformar a partir de las 6pm en la calle pública que se localiza al costado de restaurante Tonny Romas en Trejos Montealegre en San Rafael de Escazú, la misma saldrá con rumbo al aeropuerto a las 6:45pm para posteriormente escoltar a Warner hasta la plaza de San Antonio.

En la Plaza de San Antonio tendremos actividades desde las 7:30pm:
*. Proyección del partido Costa Rica - El Salvador en pantalla gigante
*. Actividades culturales, juego de pólvora y mascarada
*. Presentación del cantautor escazuceño Isacc Villavicencio
*. 10pm atención a la prensa desde la Plaza de San Antonio de Escazú.

Esta actividad es organizada entre la familia de Warner y la Municipalidad de Escazú,
y apoyada por la empresa privada: La Tapachula, Arenatreck, Automercado, entre otros.

Soy un escazuceño y estoy muy orgulloso de este hombre que nos ha demostrado que con mucho trabajo se puede lograr lo que se propone un deportista. Ahora le pido lo mismo que le pidió su amigo guatemalteco ¨perfil bajo¨
